Hardcover. Houghton Mifflin, 1941. In very good condition, edges lightly bumped, boards show edgewear, top of pages very lightly soiled. DJ is fair, missing several edge pieces, back panel is soiled, now in mylar. Signed and inscribed by author to a lady friend and bookplate of Harry W Lawton (author of "Willie Boy") on front endpaper. Growing up in the Datil area of New Mexico as not easy, especially not for a girl. She played poker all one night with two rustlers who came to steal her horses and went away in the morning having taken nothing but a beating. Adams - Rampaging Herd #483, Adams - Six Guns #436.
