In very good condition, edges lightly bumped, some minor pages soiling, DJ is very good, bottom of spine lightly bumped, protected by mylar cover. The first major battle between the US Army and the Cheyenne Indians took place on the south fork of teh Solomon River in present-day Kansas. It was the only large-unit sabre charge against the Plains tribes in a battle that was as much a clash of cultures as of cavalry and Cheyenne warriors.

Lieutenant Gibson didn't join the Custer forces because of his wife's premonition. His letters, together with his wife's account of the frightened women back at the army posts waiting for news of their men.
